In the pre-match interview before facing the Pittsburgh Steelers, QB Stafford explained how well Aaron Donald plays on the field. He emphasized that Donald is always there on time wherever he’s required and that he should be doubled. Stafford said, “Hearing our calls, we had a situation. He was trying to move away from the point we were going against our defense…”

He continued, “Maybe last Friday or two Fridays ago, we made a call to double to him; he moved to the other side. I flippered it. He got up and went, moved over. I said, I don’t care, just double him. Said, you know, I mean, I just like he knows what’s coming.” Matthew Stafford also said earlier that Donald is a special player and that he’s a game-wrecker.
