David Portnoy sounds off on the Patriots’ one controversial call!

During a recent episode of the Flagrant podcast, Barstool Sports owner Portnoy was asked about his view on Bill Belichick’s legacy post-Brady era. Before commenting on the current scenario, Portnoy gave his argument on Belichick’s role in the Giants’ Super Bowl wins, “I really think he is largely responsible for the giant Super Bowls with the defense he had that’s like LT so it’s like he did it there.” Crediting his defense, including Lawrence Taylor (LT). Because, Belichick spent 12 years with the Giants, contributing to their success.

However, Portnoy also criticized the Patriots for letting Brady go too soon, “They [Patriots] made a mistake letting him [Brady] go too early Brady like he still had years to play and then he goes and wins in Tampa.” 46-year-old pointed out that Brady continued to excel with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making the case that the Patriots’ performance declined after his departure, “so I certainly see the argument because the Patriots haven’t been very good since.” This discussion sheds light on Belichick’s impact and the Patriots’ decision regarding Brady.
