More bad news surfaces for the New York Giants. The team is already battered and is on the losing side of things with a 1-5 record. First, it was the injury of Daniel Jones and a couple of others, and now, the team is saying its last words to their veteran receiver. Journalist Mike Garafolo reveals news about the Giants WR Cole Beasley.

As of now, going to a playoff sounds like a stretch for the Giants, given their performance. Adding to this is the injury of their star QB Daniel Jones. Things look dismal. But we have seen teams like Zach Wilson’s Jets, and their comeback has been something to look out for. The Giants rank dead last in the NFC East, and in the middle of the season, they made a surprising decision about Cole Beasley.

In a mutual decision, the wide receiver Cole Beasley and the Giants will part ways, ending Beasley’s one-year, $1,165,000 contract. He will be released from the practice squad as he failed to make the 53-man cut. He started with the Giants in July but was placed on IR because of an undisclosed injury. Also, Beasley’s failure to participate in practice and being unused in any of the games made it easy for the Giants to end the contract.

Beasley started his career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2012 and saw 7 seasons with them. He has also played with the Bucs for a season and the Bills for 4 seasons. In his decade-long career, the WR has had 5,744 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns. However, despite his being signed by the Giants, there seems to be no record of his stats with the team. Why? Because he simply hasn’t played or practiced due to a mysterious injury.

The injury list for Week 7 looks devastating, and their future in the 2023 season seems quite bleak. Fifteen of the Giants are injured, including Saquon Barkley (ankle injury), who hasn’t shown us a lot this season, and Daniel Jones, who is out because of a neck injury. Then there is Andrew Thomas, who hasn’t been on the field for a long time because of a hamstring injury.

However, the good news is that most of the 15 players have been in limited participation in practice, and some have been fully active. The next game against the Washington Commanders is an uphill battle as they hold a 3-3 record. But we recently saw how the Jets took over the Philadelphia Eagles. The 2023 season had a weird start, as many underdogs are showing up. Can the Giants make it to that list? Hard to say.
