Yet some more news for the Chicago Bears comes in as they look for new talent to revamp their whole squad. The team is in shambles right now and it is not a secret. From dealing with the feds to their DC resigning and the recent problems with their WR, the team is taking a barrage of blows and it’s not looking good for them at all. In the wake of all this, they are looking at Caleb Williams as their panacea.

A recent upload by ‘Speak’ shares some interesting speculations and what-if conversations that might give Bears fans some hope. One thing is for sure, they are not going to make it out of the slump quickly enough, and even if they do, a lot of things are not in their hands.

The confusion surrounding Caleb Williams

The hosts of the show started off with a simple question, which was, should Caleb Williams go back to playing college football again if he gets picked by the Bears or not? One of the hosts jumped the gun and replied quickly by saying, “Stop playing man”. The fact of the matter is, no matter what Williams does, the underperforming team will always get a first pick in the draft. So, either way, he is going to have to build this new team up and elevate them. Hosts mentioned how people like Joe Burrow have turned their teams around and it shouldn’t matter where the rookie goes. We know that the Bears need a miracle as the host mentioned that the team is in “pure absolute chaos”

There is another argument at play here. In a lot of people’s opinions, Williams is one of the greatest college QBs to have blessed this game. Add to this the pay disparity and you lose the thought of the QB ever going back to college football again. The industry standard is around $200-$300 million for a top-tier QB. It would be unwise to leave the opportunity that he might get from the NFL in the future. Also, Justin Fields has lost 13 games in the series, which has put more pressure on the Bears to attack the next draft picks with ferocity.

The Bears are in shambles

Leaving the new additions aside, recently there was some news about the Bears’ WR not participating in the game and was told to ‘go home’ in the Sunday game against the Broncos, which they ended up losing too. Apparently, the WR, Chase Claypool doesn’t feel like the Bears are using him as they should and at this point, the whole Claypool deal sounds like a huge fund mismanagement on the Bears’ part and Claypool is just caught in it. For now, he is just cooperating.

Add to this the loss of Alan Williams, their DC, due to some FBI suspicions. It does not look good for the Bears at all. It looks like the Bears need Caleb Williams more than he needs them. But at the same time, arguing that playing college football forever is just foolish. Why? Because pro leagues pay more and give athletes more exposure and opportunities.

The Bears are getting some of the beginning picks in the next draft picks for sure. But are they going to utilize it carefully? Or is it going to turn out to be another Chase Claypool situation?
