Each one of us is inspired by something or someone in our childhood. This likeliness and idol worship can be a huge influence on anyone’s career. The same is the case with the San Francisco 49ers Running Back, Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey has become quite a sensation this season, breaking records and such. Of course, he also had a childhood inspiration, and his name was Frank Gore.

Frank Gore was a 49ers legend, who played 10 seasons with the team, and in each season, he kept pushing himself to be better. His stats on ESPN are a testament to this. CMC and Gore play the same position, and it’s not a far-fetched idea to relate McCaffrey’s success to that of Frank Gore. Although the comparison is not Christian McCaffrey’s idea, he opens up about himself.

McCaffrey recently spoke to NBC Sports and opened up about how Frank Gore influenced him and his game. Safe to say, he is translating his inspiration to the field pretty well. CMC focuses on longevity, and that is why Frank Gore inspires him. Gore’s ability to not take a lot of hits and move forward is what Christian McCaffrey tries to incorporate into his game. This helps with longevity and it’s pretty obvious, the less you get hit, the longer you are able to play.

“I think just to do what he did for so long is unbelievable. That’s something that is tough to do. I just have so much respect for the way he did it and also his mindset as a runner.” Said McCaffrey addressing Frank Gore.

But it’s not like Gore couldn’t take hits, he made sure that he hit as hard as he ran. CMC praises Gore’s instincts, athleticism, and decision-making on the field and it is something that propels him to do better on the field. It became clearer in the game against the Cardinals when he scored 4 touchdowns, going down in the NFL history. Perhaps the CMC train won’t stop in the game against the Cowboys as well.

The Paradox: Unstoppable force vs. Immovable object

The San Francisco 49ers are going against one of the richest and most defensive teams in NFL history. Yes, the much-awaited 49ers Vs. Cowboys game. The Cowboys stand 2 in the NFC East with 3 wins and one loss to their name, while the 49ers are on cloud 9 with 0 losses. Will the Cowboys be able to bring them down? Or will the Cowboys be taken off their high horses?

A lot is on the line this time because the Cowboys have been knocked off by the hands of the 49ers in the past playoff games. This time, though, it is very important for the Cowboys to win this game for multiple reasons. Firstly, it would add one more win to their record, redeeming them. Secondly, this is an old rivalry, and the Cowboys need to settle the score. Finally, regardless of a win, the Cowboys might have to face the 49ers once again in the playoffs, so it’s better to defeat them right now.
