It looks like the NFL is giving new talent plenty of opportunities to shine and prove their iron. In a crazy game, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New England Patriots in the most humiliating way possible. The final picture gave the impression that the Patriots gave up in the first quarter. Bill Belichick must be having anger issues after the game, to say the least. This is the year that the new talent makes history. First, it was Sam LaPorta, and then it was Christian McCaffrey. But now, it is time for the Cowboys CB DaRon Bland to shine.

Despite his last name, his plays are not simple at all. And thanks to him, the same can be said about the Dallas Cowboy’s defense with the new CB on the field. We know by now that Skip Bayless is a hardcore Cowboys fan. And naturally, he had to say something about the Cowboys vs. Patriots game.

Skip Bayless banks on DaRon Bland

Skip Bayless recently made a tweet, and it also has to do with Trevon Diggs. Diggs, who suffered from a torn ACL in practice, will be out for the whole 2023 season. In lieu of his absence, Bland got a chance, and he is not cutting any corners. So much so that Bayless thinks that DaRon Bland is the new Trevon Diggs. Don’t know how this comparison works out, but it sounds good for the Sophomore CB.

That’s not all, though. The CB has been doing numbers ever since he got the chance on the field. He has recently made a place for himself besides Trevon Diggs and Larry Brown. He apparently set the record that not a lot of Cowboys have been able to break. Bland returned a 54-yard touchdown, for the second time this season. Add two intercepted passes to the list and you’ll get a place besides Trevon Diggs. The interesting fact is that this record was made by Larry Brown back in 1995 and again by Trevon Diggs in 2021.

Good to see the new talent climbing the Cowboys’ upper echelon so quickly.

Is this a permanent replacement for Trevon Diggs?

Diggs, who suffered a torn ACL will be out for the remainder of the 2023 season. He was seen walking out on crutches during practice. The thing is Trevon Diggs is a huge deal for the Cowboys’ defense. The Cowboys held a record for defense before the commencement of week 3 and Trevon Diggs was the main playmaker behind the defensive line. He quickly made his place in the Cowboys ever since he joined the team.

But now, it is time for DaRon Bland to take the beacon for the remainder of this season. Hopefully, he stays in good health and propels his career and his team to the playoffs. In the game against the Patriots, Bland had 4 tackles in total and defended 3 passes. Safe to say that the Cowboys are on the right path with the decision to bring Bland in.
