The Kansas City Chiefs are calling the shots at Arrowhead Stadium in the AFC Championship Game and its tight end Travis Kelce, who’s moving the chains for the home team.

The Chiefs who are making their 3rd consecutive appearance in the AFC Championship Game are the defending Super Bowl champions. And Kelce seems to have made it his personal mission to ensure that they get to the NFL’s summit tie.
The tight end has been phenomenal all season. Breaking records at the tip of a hat, Travis Kelce is slowly creeping up the charts to break an all-time Super Bowl record.

Travis Kelce is hot on the heels of Gronkowski
With the tight end putting up the numbers yet again, he is within striking distance of breaking an all-time record held by Buccaneers’ TE Rob Gronkowski.
Gronk currently holds the record for most receptions by a tight end in a single Super Bowl campaign. With 83 receptions, Gronk’s record with the New England Patriots looked set to stand the test of time. But, Kelce seemed to have other ideas.

The tight end eclipsed the second-best reception record previously held by Dallas Clark in the title game against the Buffalo Bills. With 11 receptions so far, Kelce could break the all-time record if the Chiefs manage to reach the Super Bowl.

Kelce’s record-breaking 2020 season
The tight end has enjoyed the best campaign of his career so far. Kelce has played a pivotal role in the Chiefs’ run to making a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance.

Kansas’ No.87 also broke the regular-season record for most receiving yards by a tight end. Kelce breezed past the previous record held by San Francisco 49ers TE, George Kittle, of 1,377 yards in 2018.

Kelce finished the 2020 regular season with 1,416 receiving yards to be crowned the new holder of the record. With the Chiefs holding a healthy lead over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, Kelce might just end the season with another record to his name.
