Cleveland Browns Register Record-Setting Drive in Divisional Round Playoff Against Chiefs

Kevin Stefanski’s Cleveland Browns looked down and out at the end of the first half in their Divisional Round Playoff against Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs dominated right from the start as they made their way to the locker room with a comfortable 16-point lead.
Mahomes started where he left off in the second half as the Chiefs looked to wreak havoc at the Arrowhead Stadium. But the 16,000-odd fans all went quiet when their star quarterback was forced off the field after being yanked to the ground on a third-down speed option keeper.

That’s when Baker Mayfield and Co. saw an opportunity to pile pressure on the home team.

HC Kevin Stefanski looked to make the most of Mahomes’ absence as the Browns quickly rallied against the Chiefs in the third quarter. Mayfield put together an 18 play drive which ended with a 3-yard rushing TD by RB Kareem Hunt to change the tide of play. This was the second-longest drive in the NFL post-season over the last two decades.

The Browns' 18-play TD drive is the longest TD drive is tied for the 2nd-longest drive (in terms of plays) over the last 20 postseasons.

The longest TD drive record in the NFL Playoffs belongs to Dallas Cowboys. The Jerry Jones-owned franchise put together a 20 play drive in the Divisional Round against the New York Giants back in 2007.
