Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson was having a mediocre season in the build-up to Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback came under immense criticism for his inconsistent displays over the course of the last four months. Some critics even went ahead and claimed that Jackson was a one-season wonder.
However, the Florida-born athlete silenced his doubters with a stellar display in the Wild Card Playoffs. Jackson 17 of 24, threw for 179 yards against one interception. But the highlight of his day was a 49-yard rushing touchdown to get the Ravens even right before half-time.

Lamar Jackson gets first playoff win as Titans bow out in Wild Card Round
While Lamar was literally unstoppable this weekend, his counterpart, Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry was the opposite. The dangerous running back didn’t look like himself as the Ravens defense did their best to reduce Henry’s lethal runs. Consequently, he could put together just 40 yards on 18 carries.

Prior to today’s game, the Titans’ superstar had rushed for 2,000+ yards and had 17 rushing touchdowns this season. He was also being touted as a potential outside contender for the NFL MVP crown. But King Henry’s 2020 NFL campaign ended in heartbreak yet again. QB Ryan Tannehill and coach Mike Vrabel will also be feeling gutted after coming close to making the AFC Championship game.

Meanwhile, Lamar and the Ravens will sit tight and recuperate over the next week. They will go up against either reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs or AFC East champions Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round Playoffs. All eyes will be on Jackson, who is on track to add to his post-season win tally after winning his first playoff game today.
