The city of Tampa has had to wait long for a shot at a second Super Bowl win. With their solitary Lombardi Trophy coming back all the way back in 2003, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now just one win away from winning it all again.
And this time, a win would be even sweeter given that the Bucs are playing the Super Bowl in their own backyard. While Bucs QB Tom Brady needs no extra motivation to win the Super Bowl, the city mayor has a rather interesting proposition for Brady.

“I told him, we are not discussing changing our city’s name until he brings home that Lombardi Trophy. So Tom and I will have that discussion in due time,” Castor said.
“Yes, we will talk about that, changing ‘Tampa’ since we are becoming a title town, to ‘Tompa Bay’. We’ll have those discussions,” she added.

This comment by the mayor, however, should be taken with a pinch of salt. It was obviously one that was made in jest and good humor. But the mayor did guarantee that if the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl, the city will definitely have a ‘Tom Brady Day’. A gesture to celebrate the greatness of the legendary quarterback.
Chasing a 7th Super Bowl ring, Brady knows a thing or two about bringing the title home. Something the city of Tampa has missed out on for years.
