Tampa Bay Buccaneers left nothing to chance

Speaking to the media after the game, White talked about how the game plan was to keep the Saints offense off the field for as long as possible.

“The thing of the game is that if you take the ball away more, more than you give it away, you win the game. And all we wanted to do is win the game,” said White.

“We knew that was gonna have to come, and we were up for the challenge. But at the end of the day, everybody feeds off everyone else’s energy. So when Shawn got the pick we were like, ‘Who’s going to get the next pick?”

The Buccaneers intercepted 3 of Drew Brees’ passes to cap off a stunning defensive display. What makes the fact even more impressive is that Brees had only thrown 1 interception over the course of the last 9 games.

White focusing on having the right mindset

The linebacker who ended up with 2 interceptions said that it was all about having the right mindset. The team had a plan, and it was all about stepping up to the plate.

“It’s a momentum thing, it’s a mindset. And that’s one thing about our guys in the backend. They got talked about and they stepped up to the plate,” said White.

“Now it’s the Playoffs. They know everything is on the line. You had guys out there playing through injuries and everybody put it on the line,” he added.

The Buccaneers will be hoping for more of the same till the end of the postseason. With Aaron Rodgers and the Packers up next, the defense will be needed to put on another masterclass.
