Drew Brees, who will be 42 soon, when taking on Brady, 43, will combine for a total age of 85. The previous record is also held by them, 84, when they took on each other in the 2020 regular season.

Brady also became the oldest quarterback to start a playoff game when he took to the field against the Washington Football Team last week.

Rumors of this being Brees’ last season in the NFL have been doing the rounds for some time now. The quarterback has been a cornerstone for the Saints and even led them to their maiden Super Bowl in 2010.

Still enduring as the league’s all-time passing yard leader with over 80,000+ passing yards, Brees has suffered a tough time with injuries this season. 

Brees was diagnosed with 11 broken ribs and a punctured lung in mid-November; injuries that placed him on the injured reserve list for the first time in his career. 

Tough as nails though, Drew Brees returned a month late to guide his side into the Playoffs. And as the season nears its end, the rumor train keeps picking up pace. 

Regardless of what decision Brees ends up taking, the future Hall of Famer will have only one thing in mind when Sunday comes around. Ensuring Tom Brady does not get his hands on a 7th Super Bowl ring this season.
