Sunday will be one of the most awaited days in world sports. The FIFA World Cup Final will take place in Qatar. While the United States put its best foot forward during the greatest stage of international soccer, its dreams were crushed by a powerful Dutch squad. The Netherlands eventually was eliminated by the finalists, Argentina. As Lionel Messi takes center stage, on Sunday, it will mark the first time Tom Brady plays on the day of a World Cup final.

Both Brady and Lionel Messi are maestros of their craft. The two GOATS of their individual sports will battle it out on Sunday as their teams rely on them to put up a masterclass yet again. While Brady will be a part of a regular season game, the pressure on him won’t be as much as Messi. The soccer magician will look to make the most of this grand finale as he chases the only major trophy left for him to conquer.

Lionel Messi and Tom Brady take center stage on Sunday

The FIFA World Cup has traditionally been a summer tournament. It has always been conducted in June and July throughout its glorious history. These months are traditionally the months that build into the NFL season. However, owing to this year’s location and its harsh climate for the World Cup, FIFA conducted the tournament in the winter.

While it doesn’t really winter in Qatar, it still is much more pleasant for athletes to compete right now than it would be in the summer.

The tournament has been going on for about a month and has had the entire globe’s eyeballs attached to it. While the United States was knocked out in the Round of 16, American eyeballs will be just as glued to the finals as Leo Messi takes to the main stage.

While one GOAT will compete in Qatar, the other will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Tampa Bay. The Bucs take on the Bengals as both teams look to make a post-season push. Tom Brady’s team has been average at best this season but is still on top of their division.

Even with a losing record, they are most likely to make it to the playoffs. Though there will be a decision on the World cup winner before Brady takes charge in Tampa, it will be the first time these events occur on the same day.

This is Messi’s last world cup game and it would be a heck of a way to go out for him. However, Tom Brady hasn’t announced any such news about him but will still hope to catch the W. This could also be the last NFL season for the 45-year-old. Though they don’t look like a Super Bowl-winning team, one can never know what to expect out of Brady.
