The Mahomes are a sporting unit. Sport runs in their blood from all sides. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ father was an MLB pitcher. And the next generation is predictably even stronger, with Pat tying the knot with former pro-soccer star Brittany. However, it looks like Brittany is having more influence on the next generation than the 2x Super Bowl-winning passer. At least, the sister seems to be on the same path as her sister-in-law.

Patrick’s half-sister Zoe Mahomes believes she has got what it takes to be the next soccer sensation. And Brittany must have had a hand in nudging the young FC Dallas player into choosing soccer over his brother’s chosen sport of excellence, football.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has three siblings. Brother Jackson Mahomes and sisters Mia Randall and Zoe Claire Mahomes. While Jackson has taken the more scenic route with the social media and TikTok influencer role, the sisters have followed the family sports tradition. Mia trades in tennis, football, and basketball. However, the youngest, Zoe, has taken up soccer just like Pat’s high school sweetheart and wife Brittany.

When asked what her favorite sport was on a recent reel in her Instagram account, she quickly replied with soccer and basketball. Ouch! Zoe was born in 2015 to Pat Mahomes Sr. and his ex-girlfriend Anika Zoe Cooper. However, Pat senior’s Red Sox or Mets baseball vibes didn’t rub off on his daughter. Her half-brother and Chiefs quarterback’s generational display of talent couldn’t change her mind either.

The eight-year-old also said that she plays in the center midfielder role for FC Dallas under Coach Haylock. “My dad played baseball and my brother plays football. And I’m gonna be a soccer star,” she proudly claimed. Also, her favorite team is French Ligue 1-based Paris Saint-Germain. Zoe chose PSG because her favorite players play for the top-division club. She could have been referring to the dynamic front three PSG currently boasts of, including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Brazilian star, Neymar.

Patrick Mahomes doesn’t want to influence his children at all

With a quarterbacking prodigy as a father and former professional soccer star for a mother, Patrick’s children Sterling Skye Mahomes and Patrick ‘Bronze’ Mahomes will have supremely gifted athletic genes. However, the 2x Super Bowl MVP doesn’t want to force any of her decisions down his kid’s throats.

Patrick clarified in an interview that he wants his children to choose their own life path, just like his father Patrick Sr. allowed him to figure things out for himself. The QB was a talented two-sport athlete in college and had an awe-striking pitching arm. However, Pat Sr. didn’t force his son to follow in his footsteps. Eventually, Mahomes used his arms to throw the pigskin, and that worked out pretty well.
