The news of Watt’s departure came as a surprise to many. While he may not be the player he once was, many considered him invaluable to the Texans’ organization.

And the fact that they were willing to let him go for free is quite shocking. But given the state of affairs within the Houston Texans, perhaps this decision isn’t surprising.

As of now, only Watt’s future is not with the Texans. But the Texans are surely going to miss the former 3-time Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt.

There isn’t much information as to why JJ Watt decided to call time on his career in Houston. Perhaps he just wanted a change of scenery.

It could also be fuelled by his desire to try his luck with a contender and win a Super Bowl to add to his list of phenomenal accomplishments. One thing remains for sure; JJ Watt will go down as a Houston Texans’ legend.
