Stats Suggest That Super Bowl LV Win for Tom Brady Might Just Be His Greatest Achievement Yet

Super Bowl LV is done and dusted. The NFL has crowned it’s champion for the 2020 season. And it’s none other than Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Silencing his critics yet again, Brady showed everyone just why he is considered by many as the GOAT. Now 43 and with seven Super Bowl rings to his name, it’s only a matter of time before people compare this Super Bowl win to those in the past.

This season was of course unlike any other in the past. With the COVID-19 pandemic reeking havoc across franchises, teams had to play without an preseason games and challenging practice conditions.

But even apart from the logistical issues faced, if numbers are anything to go by, this Super Bowl victory might be Tom Brady’s greatest yet.

Tom Brady and Bucs record breaking postseason

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers run to the Super Bowl has been nothing short of historic. According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Buccaneers are the first team in NFL history to register four 30-point games in a single postseason.

This includes wins against the Washington Football Team, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Making the feat even more special.

Beating the Saints, Packers, and Chiefs meant that the franchise also became the first team to beat three Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks in a postseason. Drew Brees of the Saints, Aaron Rodgers of the Packers and Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs.

A lot of the team’s success is to be credited for their stellar defensive showing in the postseason. But one can not overlook the contribution of Tom Brady either.

With 50 touchdown passes this season (including playoffs) Tom Brady became the first player in NFL history with 50 passing TDs for a Super Bowl champion.
