The entire football world will tune in this Sunday for the biggest game of the season- the Super Bowl. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on Patrick Mahomes and the defending champions, Kansas City Chiefs.

The showdown between the two elite quarterbacks is certainly going to be a game for the ages. But fans are also excited for another feature of the event – the halftime show.

This year, the NFL is bringing in pop sensation The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) to perform the halftime show. The RnB superstar has been on a roll throughout this year.

His hit single ‘Blinding Lights’ was the biggest song of 2020, spending the entire year on the Billboard Hot 100 Top-10. The Weeknd will be performing some of his biggest hits during the halftime show of the big game.

The Weeknd’s success over the past year has been credited to his album ‘After Hours’. The album was critically acclaimed and was awarded tons of accolades last year.

Super Bowl Halftime Show- A Coveted Stage

The Weeknd gained major notoriety for his debut mix tape, House of Balloons. After several successful mix tapes, he dropped his first studio album – ‘Kissland’.

However, he achieved mainstream success with this second album ‘Beauty Behind the Madness’, with singles such as ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘The Hills’ peaking on the Billboard charts.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs will play the biggest game of the season. This Sunday, he performs on one of the biggest stages of the world – the Super Bowl halftime show.

In fact, to further engage the audience watching at home, he spent close to $7 million of his own money to make the show memorable.

The Super Bowl draws close to 100 million viewers every year. So the chance to perform in front of an audience of that size is something that Abel could just not pass up.

Fans will be looking forward to his performance, as he looks to make the halftime show as memorable as Brady and Mahomes will make the game.
