The Dallas Cowboys of the NFL, on Wednesday, announced that they will be donating $50,000 to the El Paso Community Foundation Victims’ Fund, which was launched to help provide assistance to families affected by the recent mass shooting in Texas.

This came after Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation announced that they will contribute to the fund.

“It’s just unthinkable and a tragedy,” Jerry Jones said Sunday. “Obviously we all want to think how can we make different those issues. I’m sure all Americans are thinking that way.”

Cowboys Executive Vice President Charlotte Jones Anderson, who is also the chairman of the NFL Foundation sad that she would be contributing to the fund.

“Our hearts and support are with the entire El Paso community and especially with the families of the victims of this very tragic event,” Charlotte said in a statement.

“Our organization has long enjoyed a wonderful following from the people of El Paso, and our wish is that so many others in Texas and around the country will be inspired to assist the loved ones who are grieving,” she continued.

Apart from the Cowboys, The Houston Texans Foundation and the Bengals are among the teams that announced the donation. The Texans will donate $100,000 while The Bengals and the NFL Foundation will donate $75,000 to the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund, through The Dayton Foundation. The Dayton Foundation will work with local authorities to distribute the funds to those affected by the shooting.

“Dayton is part of our community and we are saddened by the tragic events that took place this weekend,” Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all of those affected.”

El Paso incident-

More than 20 people were killed Saturday morning after a gunman opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.

The suspect behind the shooting has been identified as a 21-year-old white male from Texas that has been linked to racist and anti-immigrant writings that appeared online prior to the attack.
