As a last-minute trade deal, the Chicago Bears are bringing star DE Montez Sweat from the Washington Commanders. As per reports, the Bears were in desperate need of a pass rusher. And now they have an all-pro Defensive End in their arsenal. It is quite a possibility that the Bears may after all turn the tide this season.

However, looks like not everyone is quite happy with the way the Bears acquired Montez Sweat. NFL insider Aaron Schatz took to ‘X’ to share his disagreement with the contract the Bears presented to Sweat. Schatz even went on to state that Sweat is, after all, a free agent. He probed, “They sign him to… a contract extension similar to the contract they could have given him in free agency?”

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons are coughing up dust after being snubbed by the Chicago Bears in a race to acquire Sweat. As per reports, the Falcons offered a 3rd round pick from the 2024 draft in place of Sweat to Magic Johnson and his Washington Commanders. While the Falcons already struck a deal with the Philly Eagles by acquiring DL Kentavius Street. But it looks like the Falcons will have to get proactive in their wheeling and dealings as the clock keeps ticking.
