He said that his dream was his anchor and that he always wakes up with a heart full of gratitude, even when things go wrong. “It’s my anchor. And I wake up with a heart full of gratitude and even in death and even when things don’t go right,” said Dwayne. Instead of dwelling on his disappointment, Dwayne saw his setback as a blessing in disguise. He realized that not making it to the NFL opened up new doors for him and led him to where he is today. Now, he is one of the most successful actors and entrepreneurs in the world, with a stake in Teremana Tequila, which is valued at $2 billion dollars, and ownership of the XFL with his ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia in 2020 for $15 million. But why couldn’t he make it to the league?

Why The Rock couldn’t make it to NFL?

The Rock played college football for the University of Miami and won a national championship in 1991. However, his career was plagued by injuries and he had to compete with Warren Sapp, a future NFL star, for the same position. He did not get drafted by any NFL team and tried his luck in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Calgary Stampeders, but only lasted two months before getting cut from the team. Instead of giving up, Johnson saw this as an opportunity to pursue a different path, as he said, it was the best thing that ever happened to him because it opened the door for his wrestling and acting career.
