Dwayne Johnson might be a big name today in the Hollywood industry. Readers might have known him as a pro wrestler, but the hunk was a football player too. He turned his life around from the darkest stages of his early teenage years with help of his high school coach, who persuaded him to play football. The Rock sat for an interview narrating this funny incident that changed his life.

In his early teenage years, Dwayne Johnson admitted that he was a spoiled kid with all kinds of bad habits. He was a bully, and at the same time, got involved in various troubles at high school.

Per reports, stealing to forge checks landed him in prison, and was arrested several times. Just like today, he was a big guy, compared to his classmates. At the age of 16, he was 6’4”, and weighed 250 pounds. Thus, it became easy for him to intimidate others.

While reminiscing about the old days in one of his confessions, Rock says, “When I was 16 years old, that was the last time I was arrested, and that time we were at an all-time low with our family. I had a very bad mustache and a chip on my shoulder,”. He went on to narrate the entire story.

One day, at his new school in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he decided to use the teachers’ lounge bathroom. He accidentally met a teacher, Jody Cwik, a tough guy, who wasn’t pleased to see a student lurking around the staff bathroom.

“‘Hey, you can’t be in here.’ I kind of pause, look over my shoulder [and say], ‘Okay, I’ll leave when I’m done.'” Rock said about the moment. He said the man was fuming, and Johnson left the bathroom, staring down at him. However, the former WWE champion revealed that he didn’t like how it all went.

The next day, Johnson went to meet the same teacher and apologized for his disrespectful behavior. It turns out, that Cwik wasn’t buying it, and looking at his student’s physique and appearance, he came up with a proposal and asked him to join the high school team if he ever wants to make up for it. Without a second thought, he said Yes.

After accepting the proposal, Rock got to know that Cwik was the football coach of the team. Under him, Johnson debuted as a tight end and officially kick-started his football career.

“He became a father figure to me and a mentor. I fell in love with the game of football. The grades got better. And I started getting recruited from every college across the country,” Johnson said. The actor revealed that since then, he became one of the household names among other coaches, and when he entered, everyone greeted him with respect.

In the confession, Johnson affirmed that he would never forget the helping hand Cwik extended to him. Although he went undrafted in the 1995’s NFL draft, Johnson played a significant role in leading his University of Miami football team from 1991 to 1994. Imagine what would have been the case if Johnson was still playing football and scrambling across the field for one of the NFL teams.
