This Saturday, there will be no WNBA playoff game, with the postseason returning Sunday as the best-of-five semifinal round begins. However, sports fans will still have plenty to watch, as MLB and college football will feature some major contests. Motorsport fans will also have the chance to catch the NASCAR Las Vegas Weekend.

With all four MLB Division Series games on the schedule Saturday, fans can follow the action through a mix of national television and streaming outlets. The American League Division Series games will air across TBS, truTV, UniMás and HBO Max, while the National League Division Series games will be carried by FOX, FS1, FOX Deportes and FOX One.

The opening MLB game will feature the Chicago White Sox against the Cleveland Guardians. The two teams will face each other in a best-of-five series, with the first contest taking place at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

The White Sox could enter the series with some momentum after sweeping their Wild Card Series in Houston. Meanwhile, the Guardians have had some extra time to rest and prepare for the Division Series. That break could become an important factor as the series gets underway.

MLB

College football 

The college football schedule begins with the noon window, which includes Memphis facing Charlotte early at 11:00 a.m. ET on ESPN+. The rest of the noon window brings a packed slate, led by Middle Tenn. vs. Kansas on ESPNU, Alabama vs. Miss. State on ABC, Boston College vs. SMU on CW, and Michigan vs. Minnesota on FOX.

Syracuse will face UConn on CBSSN, Navy will take on Air Force at noon ET on CBS, and Stanford will meet Wake Forest on ACCN. Notre Dame will visit North Carolina on ESPN, UCF will face Houston on ESPN2, and West Virginia will take on Iowa State at noon ET on TNT and truTV.

At 12:30 PM, Michigan St. will visit Wisconsin on BTN. Vanderbilt will then face Georgia at 12:45 PM on SECN, followed by W. Michigan vs. Buffalo at 1:00 PM on ESPN+.

NHL 

Seven games are set for the opening window, with Utah at Columbus, Carolina at Philadelphia, Ottawa at Toronto, Montreal at Pittsburgh, Washington at Tampa Bay, Seattle at Edmonton, and Chicago at Buffalo all beginning at 7:00 PM.

The schedule continues at 7:30 PM with New Jersey at NY Islanders. Boston at Minnesota and Dallas at Nashville will follow at 8:00 PM.

The late-night slate begins with St. Louis at Colorado at 9:00 PM. Los Angeles at San Jose and Calgary at Vancouver will then close out the schedule at 10:00 PM.

Most of Saturday’s NHL games will be available through local or regional-rights holders, while ESPN+ will provide eligible out-of-market streaming access in the United States. Local blackout restrictions apply. Seattle at Edmonton will also air on NHL Network.

Motorsports 

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Las Vegas this weekend, with plenty of track action scheduled before Sunday’s main event. Fans can follow practice, qualifying, and the O’Reilly Series race on Saturday before the Cup Series points race takes center stage the next day.

The action begins at 4:30 PM ET with Cup Series Practice, which will air on truTV. Drivers will get their first opportunity to fine-tune their cars and prepare for the challenges of the Las Vegas track.

The schedule then moves to qualifying at 5:35 PM ET, also on truTV. The session will determine the starting positions for Sunday’s Cup Series points race, adding extra importance to every lap.

Later in the evening, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will take the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 7:30 p.m. ET. The race will air on The CW and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

However, the biggest event of the weekend is still to come. The NASCAR Cup Series’ South Point 400 is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, at 5:30 p.m. ET at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race will air on USA Network, with streaming coverage available on HBO Max.
