Call of Duty Warzone is probably one of the fastest-growing battle royale games in the world. Since its global launch in March 2020, it has managed to gather over 75 million players and counting. That is an astounding achievement for any developer. But there is one major roadblock that is crippling the game?s reputation. Case in point: Hackers/cheaters in Warzone.

Popular streamer Nickmercs has voiced his opinion on Twitter and has urged Activision to take measures.

?Ay bro, please @Activision – pull the trigger & make the investment. Warzone?s truly incredible, but it?s becoming harder & harder to play with all these hackers. Roll out the anti-cheat, show everybody ur about?

His plea to Activision got him a lot of support from the community. A lot of famous streamers, influencers, including UFC fighter Max Holloway, supported Nick.

This is an alarming situation for Activision where they face the potential threat of losing players. Popular insider Rod Breslau also replied to Nick?s tweet saying, ?at this point im convinced there’s nothing they can do, that they’re going after cheat companies to sue them because the call of duty anticheat is dogshit compared to other major multiplayer games, and they do not have the ability to slow down cheaters on PC in any meaningful way?

Activision has been trying to deal with Warzone cheaters for a long time

Recent reports suggest that Activision has handed out lawsuits to two major cheat manufacturers. While this is a great move to stop players from getting cheats, it is not enough. Cheats on the internet are available like the Hydra monster, cut off one head and two more grow back. There are tons of sources to acquire cheats, and that?s exactly where an anti-cheat software comes in handy. Currently, there is no known anti-cheat software in place for Warzone, which is a worrying scenario.

Additionally, recent developments had suggested that Activision accounts were being hacked. Even though Activision has issued a statement denying it, this still raises questions about their security.

There have also been reports suggesting that the team is working on an anti-cheat software for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. Even if they are, they need to at least communicate the same to the players. Currently, cheaters/hackers are present in pretty much every other match in Warzone and it is not a good sign.

Nickmercs and the community are not calling out Activision because they hate the game, but rather because they enjoy it so much. They would hate for such a good game to be ruined because of some unethical players. Warzone has great potential and Activision can really help the players with the announcement of an anti-cheat software. Time to see if Activision addresses this issue and really take the initiative in this fight against hackers.
