Ninja Comes to the Rescue of Fellow Streamer Facing Issues with Twitch’s Refund Policy

Streamers having issues with Twitch have now become a common sight. Apart from the bans, the DMCA strikes have also recently made a lot of streamers unhappy. There is one other thing that bothers the streamers – the platform’s refund policy. Recently, a Valorant streamer ‘Average Jonas’ had one such issue where Ninja stepped in to save the day.

AverageJonas took to Twitter to voice his concern regarding the problem he was facing with the refund system. He wrote, “I have received over $5400 in several donos from one person on @Twitch which have all been refunded even though donos are supposedly non-refund. To top it off, I have been personally charged $400+ in refund fees from @PayPal. If you think this is fucking unfair, please Retweet.”

Just to clarify, I do not care that much about all the money refunded to a person who decided to be an ASSHOLE. I care about the fact that I am being charged for it, which means this can happen to other streamers too, and it's a fucking GIGANTIC loophole.

This is one of the most prominent problems Twitch currently has. If donors say that they wrongfully donated the money and they never intended to do so, Twitch will refund the money. Additionally, the platform will also charge the streamer a certain fine for this. This seems absolutely ridiculous considering the streamer is absolutely not at fault here.
In addition to this, AverageJonas also said, “This person used me and my community to gain clout, “E-Fame” and other benefits by acting like an extremely wealthy and giving human being. The person also pretended like the refunds were a mistake. I confronted the person to ask for Identification, and the person disappeared.”
I use SLOBS and Streamlabs yeah, donations are set up through Streamlabs and their TOS say they are non-refundables, but this one fell under a different category. An "underage using their parents card" and apparently according to Paypal that overrides everything

Ninja donated $5800 to AverageJonas, which included the $400 fee that he was charged unnecessarily. This was indeed a great gesture from Twitch’s biggest streamer and was appreciated by everyone.
This debacle highlighted the underlying issues with Twitch. They really should not be charging streamers any kind of fine for mistakes on the donors’ part. It is absolutely unfair to the streamer and needs to be sorted out. Twitch also launched its own Soundtrack feature. However, streamers are still getting strikes on their accounts, which has been extremely frustrating. There are a lot of issues Twitch needs to address even though it is the biggest game streaming platform in the world. Hopefully, there will be a solution for this soon.
