From the looks of it, this rumored new Nintendo Switch model will compete with the likes of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Moreover, the upcoming model will also support 4K ultra-high-definition graphics on TVs. This might aggravate the concerns of game developers regarding the vast difference in resolution between the handheld and TV modes. However, Bloomberg analysts claim that 4K support can significantly increase the demand for the Switch in the 2021 holiday season.
This deal can benefit both Samsung and Nintendo in many ways. Owing to excessive supply, the price of OLED panels has been falling steadily. In times like these, Nintendo can help Samsung in making the best of its production capacities.
