From the looks of it, this rumored new Nintendo Switch model will compete with the likes of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. OLED panels consume less battery, have higher contrast, and have a faster response time as compared to liquid-crystal displays. Moreover, the upcoming model will also support 4K ultra-high-definition graphics on TVs. This might aggravate the concerns of game developers regarding the vast difference in resolution between the handheld and TV modes. However, Bloomberg analysts claim that 4K support can significantly increase the demand for the Switch in the 2021 holiday season.
