From the looks of it, this rumored new Nintendo Switch model will compete with the likes of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. OLED panels consume less battery, have higher contrast, and have a faster response time as compared to liquid-crystal displays. To say the least, this is a huge upgrade from the 6.2-inch and 5.5-inch sized displays that the Nintendo Switch currently offers.

Wario64 also talked about the upcoming Nintendo Switch model in a recent tweet:

Moreover, the upcoming model will also support 4K ultra-high-definition graphics on TVs. This might aggravate the concerns of game developers regarding the vast difference in resolution between the handheld and TV modes. However, Bloomberg analysts claim that 4K support can significantly increase the demand for the Switch in the 2021 holiday season.

This deal can benefit both Samsung and Nintendo in many ways. Owing to excessive supply, the price of OLED panels has been falling steadily. In times like these, Nintendo can help Samsung in making the best of its production capacities.

On the flip side, the shortage of Silicon and Germanium has adversely affected the supply of display-related components. Regardless, Samsung is a trustworthy supplier of the goods and can easily fulfill any demands put forward by Nintendo.
