“No Time To Attend Meeting With Tennis Players” – Top Tennis Official Bashes Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has been leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his Adria exhibition tour amidst the coronavirus pandemic is a success. That’s why he’s brought the best talent from the world to participate.

However, some recent actions of Novak and his group have attracted ire from fans online. The Serb took part in a soccer match with Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, and Grigor Dimitrov. They teamed up to face off against a team composed of Novak’s Serbian friends who were local players.

However, the players seemed to pay no attention to social distancing norms. They were huddled together and routinely hugged each other and clapped while celebrating. The match was basically an opener to kick off the Adria Tour in Belgrade.

The latest person to speak out against it is the Vice President of the German Tennis Federation – Dirk Hordorff. He accused Novak of missing out on important meetings but playing soccer with his friends in a now-deleted tweet. Notably, Hordorff is the former coach of players like Janko Tipsarevic and Vasek Pospisil.

Dirk Hordorff went on an all-out rant against Novak Djokovic. He said that the Serb didn’t participate in an all-important zoom meeting to determine the future course of tennis.

He had also Retweeted several other tweets criticizing Djokovic. Till now, Novak has not responded to these allegations. The photos do present a sorry state of affairs when it comes to social distancing. A player of the stature of Novak Djokovic is expected to be more responsible. Let’s see if Novak has any explanation for these actions which can finally silence his critics.
