“Not a Fan of the Handlebars”: Frances Tiafoe Mocks Andy Murray’s Latest Look

British tennis star Andy Murray has been involved in a number of memorable matches over the years. He has been of the brightest players not just in British history but also got himself in the history books. He was the first male player from Great Britain to win a Grand Slam title after 76 years. 

Recently, Andy Murray was seen in San Diego competing in the event that took place there. Sadly, he lost to Casper Ruud in the pre-quarterfinals. However, the one thing that was funny was the post he put on Instagram of his new look. He shaved and is sporting a handlebar mustache.

Upon seeing his new look, American tennis player Frances Tiafoe was one of the first ones to comment. The 23-year-old player stated, “Not a fan of the handlebars but the shave was very much sooo needed.” After seeing his comment, Murray replied, “Youngster you have so much to learn.”

Frances Tiafoe beat Andy Murray earlier this year 

Over the years, Murray and Tiafoe have competed against each other twice. They played most recently in August at the Winston-Salem 2021 and the American youngster ended up winning the tie. After the match, Tiafoe had kind words to say about Andy.

 At that time, Tiafoe stated, “Love this dude man. You are a great person first, athlete second. The drive and determination you show are just remarkable. Even till this day.”

As we speak about Murray, he missed the Australian Open earlier this season. After that, he was seen in Rome as he was practicing with Novak Djokovic. He competed in the doubles category and did not last long.

Soon after, he was seen at the Wimbledon Championships. However, he lost in the third round to Denis Shapovalov. At the US Open, he lost in the opening round to Stefanos Tsitsipas. Although he ended on the losing side, the quality displayed by him was of high quality.

We wish both, Murray and Tiafoe the very best for the remainder of the matches this season and for the upcoming 2022 season.
