The World Number two tennis player, Rafael Nadal addressed his sour opinion towards the Wimbledon Championships seeding system and now his fellow colleague and rival, Novak Djokovic has backed Rafa’s dis-satisfactory remarks about the British Grand Slam’s tradition.

Earlier, Rafa mentioned that Wimbledon Championships have their own traditions and he was unhappy with their practice. “It’s their choice. Either way, being second or third seed, I have to play at the best level and I’ll fight,” Rafa said.

“It is better to be second than third, but if they consider that I have to be third I will accept. I don’t think it’s a good thing that Wimbledon is the only one with its own seeding formula,” Nadal added.

Roger Federer’s victory in Halle moved him to the second seed spot and he replaced his old friend and foe, Rafael Nadal. His 500 ATP points from Halle were added to his ATP ranking points and his grass-court performance points previously, and hence the Swiss was 180 points ahead of the Spaniard and sealed the second seed spot.

“Roger Federer is the greatest of all-time on grass courts and he has won more Wimbledon titles than anyone else in history, but the guy he is being moved ahead of in the seeings is Rafael Nadal. For that reason, it is surprising a little bit, but it is what it is,” Novak Djokovic added.
