Novak Djokovic Can Beat Rafael Nadal At French Open Says Coach Goran Ivanisevic

The rivalry between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal is certainly one of the greatest rivalries of all time. These two greats offered us numerous matches which were absolutely thrilling and had the audience at the edge of their seats. In the recently concluded French Open 2020, these two tennis legends met in the final. The Spaniard emerged as the winner as he took the match in straight sets to claim his 13th French Open title.

Goran Ivanisevic-coach of Novak Djokovic had a huge aspiration regarding Djokovic. He thought the Serbian will go all the way to win the championship this year. His concrete claims were completely demolished by Rafa.

Djokovic has won 17 Grand Slam titles. However, he failed to convert his success in the French Open arena. Djokovic holds only 1 title in Paris from 2016. he has not been able to cross the hurdle to clinch his second title in here. This raises a concern as to whether he’ll be able to claim another French Open title or not.

Goran spoke on the issue and stated confidently that Djokovic will turn the tides and will be winning another French Open before the end of his career.

“I think he can. Rafa is the absolute king and when he enters the living room, then you have to play the best possible. This was a strange year, who knows what it will be like next and what it brings us, but why couldn’t it? Now he has played the finals, Nadal and he are the two best in the world, he will definitely play some more Grand Slam finals, I sincerely hope that it will happen in Paris next year. And I will say again that Novak can beat him, I always believe in that”, he stated.

Novak Djokovic will be focussing on the Australian Open 2021

Novak Djokovic and the Australian Open is a match made in heaven. The Serbian has had immense success in the arena Down Under. With8 titles in Melbourne, he has been the indisputable ruler of the Australian Open.

Djokovic was aiming for his 18th title in the US Open 2020. However, the ‘default’ saw him out of the tournament empty handed. Missing the opportunity in New York, he aimed to take control in Paris to complete his incomplete task. Facing failure in Paris in the last stage, Djokovic will be eyeing his favorable venue to claim his 18th Slam and reduce the gap between him and the top two.
