The outbreak of the coronavirus has brought the entire sporting world to a standstill for an indefinite period. Tennis is one of the hardest-hit sports due to the global shutdown. The lower-ranked players and the budding players are struggling financially during this suspension. To solve this issue, World No.1 Novak Djokovic has come up with a plan to restart tennis in his country.

Djokovic is extremely active during the global crisis. He has already made several donations to help health workers across the world in the fight against this pandemic.

He also initiated the player relief fund along with the ATP, WTA, ITF, and the four Grand Slams. Many players in the lower echelons are unable to make ends meet during the pandemic. Hence, the relief fund aims to help those players financially.

Novak Djokovic Continues to Help Struggling Players

The reigning Australian Open champion has now stepped up to restart tennis in his home country, Serbia. Novak plans to start a tennis tour for both senior and junior players there. The tournaments will also offer prize money to the players.

“I am aware of the problems faced by many tennis players from our country. I am connected to many, and I know that they are going through serious difficulties. So we decided to come up with a plan that will help players overcome this period,” said Djokovic announcing the TSS Tour

“Six tournaments will be played for seniors and prizes will be provided. We will also organize junior competitions, and if necessary, I will also help with personal means to maintain everything in a good way,” Djokovic added.
