World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been one of the most dominant sportspersons this year. To win the first three Grand Slam events of the season is not everyone’s cup of tea. However, as much as he is gracious in his victories, he is generous in defeat, too.
The Serbian ace often congratulates his opponents and rivals when they accomplish something great. After the ATP Finals 2021 concluded and the German Alexander Zverev ended up winning the title, the World No. 1 sent him an emotional message congratulating him on his great season.

Prior to the finals, Djokovic faced Zverev in the semifinal of the ATP Finals 2021. In that match, it was the German player who prevailed and won the match in three close-fought sets. Before that, they faced each other in an intense match at the US Open, which was won by the Serb in five sets.
Reflecting on the season, Djokovic ended up winning the first three Majors of the season, tying him with rivals Federer and Nadal on 20 titles each. Sadly, he could not win the final at the US Open.
