Novak Djokovic: “I Wouldn’t Choose Tom Cruise to Play My Role”

World no. 1, Novak Djokovic revealed that he would not consider Tom Cruise to play him in a movie if a! film is made on him. He also disclosed the actors that he admires, during a press conference at the Roland Garros 2019.

Novak Djokovic felt short of Dominic Thiem in the semifinals of the French Open 2019 as the Austrian defeated him in a thrilling five-setter 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 to reach the finals of the biggest clay-court event of the season.

During a press conference after winning a comfortable quarterfinals match against Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic was asked If a film is made about your life, would you be happy for Tom Cruise to play you? Are there any other actors that you admire? Would you ever consider an acting career in the future, or would that be Mission Impossible for you?

Novak Djokovic smiled and answered, “Wow, amazing. No, I probably wouldn’t choose, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t choose Tom, even though of course I respect him.”

The Serb further added that he does not consider a career in acting for himself. He continued, “I don’t consider acting career, but we can talk. If you have some offers, later on, you can always recommend.”

Leonardo DiCaprio, the winner of the best actor award at the Oscars 2016 is one of the actors admired by Novak Djokovic. The 32-year-old revealed the actors that he admires. He said, “Actors, that I admire? Well, DiCaprio, DeNiro, Gerard Butler on the men’s side. And I like Halle Barry, Sharon Stone, and Jessica Alba. I do.”

Novak Djokovic has decided to take some time off from tennis and will miss the pre-Wimbledon events. He decides to skip the Queen’s Club Championships 2019 and also the Gerry Weber Open 2019 in Halle which will be taking place simultaneously.

He has not taken any wildcard entry at the ATP 500 event. Novak Djokovic will start his defense of title at the Wimbledon Championships 2019 without any match practice.
