Novak Djokovic: “I’ll Watch Roger and Rafa”

World No.1, Novak Djokovic reveals that will tune in and watch the high voltage Wimbledon semifinal clash between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. In the post-match press conference, Novak Djokovic divulged that he is a fan of Federer-Nadal rivalry just like millions.

Defending Champion, Novak Djokovic booked a place in the finals of the Wimbledon Championships 2019 after rallying past through Roberto Bautista Agut in four sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the men’s first semifinals on Friday.

Novak Djokovic disclosed that he’ll watch the match between Nadal and Federer in bits and pieces. The “I’ll watch Roger and Rafa! My coaches will probably see the whole match  I’ll definitely see parts of it. I’m a fan of that match-up as well. Federer and Nadal are one of the most epic rivalries of all time,” he said.

The Serb was delighted to be back in the finals at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. He said, “Obviously, this has been a dream tournament for me when I was a child, so to be in another final is a dream come true. Playing finals at Wimbledon is something different and I will definitely enjoy the experience.”

Novak Djokovic also praised Roberto Bautista Agut for his impressive performance in his first grand slam semifinals. He said, “I had to dig deep. Roberto was playing his 1st semi-final in a Slam but regardless of that he was not overwhelmed by the stadium and occasion, he played really well.”

“In the first set, he was still probably managing his nerves and he made some uncharacteristic unforced errors,” the World No. 1 added.

At the beginning of the second set, Roberto established himself and played better, placed his serves nicely. The Serb got a bit tight. The match could have gone different ways in that third set and Novak Djokovic was glad that it went his way.
