The Serb, Novak Djokovic will shortly be playing his second round match at Wimbledon Championships 2019 against Denis Kudla from the United States. Before that, the World Number one spoke to a Serbian sports channel, ‘Sport Klub’ and reflected upon his role as a president in the ATP Player Council.

Wimbledon’s top seed sounded far-fetched with the structure of the Council but made a convincing statement regarding his responsibility and he decides to serve the Council despite its cluttered administration.

“I am trying to contribute as much as I can as someone who has a certain stature within the tennis community, to give more value to the Council,” Novak Djokovic said. “It’s a fact that sometimes it gives me a headache, more than it should, but on the other hand I feel responsibility.”

According to the reports, there have been speculations in the ATP Player Council that, Evans, Edges, and Gimelstob are getting in touch with Djokovic and they are insisting various tournaments to manifest their tournament’s revenue in order to increment the prize money of players.

15-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic highlighted the importance of Gimelstob in the council.“He is one of the most engaged people in representing players’ rights, that’s why I believe players need him. I don’t want to go into details, but time will show that he was treated unjustly (within the tennis politics).
