World No.1 Novak Djokovic was forced to pull out of the US Open 2019 as a defending champion due to a left shoulder injury, last month during his fourth-round clash against Stan Wawrinka.

However, the Serbian proved that he does not have any pain in his left shoulder and was not concerned about his injury in the past three or four weeks before coming to Paris for the final Masters 1000 event of the season – Rolex Paris Masters 2019. The World No.1 showed no effects of the shoulder problems which forced him to retire from the 2019 US Open.

Talking about how he is feeling physically, Novak Djokovic told the reporters in the pre-tournament press conference at the Rolex Paris Masters 2019, “Physically I’m feeling well. I haven’t had any left shoulder pain or any major concerns physically in the last three, four weeks basically. So my preparation has been going well. And I’m just hoping I can kick off this tournament in the best possible way.”

Earlier, the 16-time Grand Slam champion practiced with his arch-rival Rafael Nadal on Monday, shortly after facing off in an exhibition charity match in Kazakhstan.

Regarding the speed of the court in the French capital, Novak Djokovic said:  “I really historically play well indoors, so I’m looking forward to playing in Paris. I have played finals here last year. I like the conditions.”

Djokovic is competing on the ATP Tour for the first time since his Shanghai Rolex Masters 2019 quarter-final loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas as a defending champion.
