Recently, Novak Djokovic faced off against Pablo Carreno Busta at the French Open. Their previous meeting did not go so well as Novak was disqualified for hitting a line judge at the US Open. Given this backstory, many were looking forward to this match.

In the first set, Novak didn’t play too well. He got broken, and he ended up losing the set 6-4. However, the Serb dominated soon after and won the next three sets to seal the match.

Seeing this, his former coach Boris Becker thought that he lost the first set because he was mentally struggling with the US Open incident. Novak was asked about this in an interview and he said“No, no, it wasn’t that at all. It was something else… I had to deal with that. I told you guys many times, I’m over it, I mean, zero percent.”

Novak Djokovic faces a tough challenge

Ever since the ATP Tour resumed, Novak has won two Masters 100 titles at Cincinnati and Rome. While he has been playing well, he is yet to face a player from the top 10. Now, he will finally play against one in the semi-finals in the form of Stefanos Tsitsipas.

After a shaky start, the Greek star has been playing amazingly well at the French Open. His confidence was very apparent in the way he beat Andrey Rublev.

It will not be an easy task for Djokovic to beat Tsitsipas. However, Djokovic is a 17-time Grand Slam champion for a reason. If he beats Stefanos tomorrow, he will reach his fifth final at Roland Garros.
