Nevertheless, Djokovic hit the practice courts on Monday, abiding the guidelines of the lockdown this time around. The Serbian practiced at the Puente Romano Tennis Club in Marbella – where he has stayed during the coronavirus lockdown.

The Spanish Government has lifted further restrictions for provinces that find themselves in Phase 1 of the pandemic de-escalation, starting Monday. Under the new guidelines, professional sports clubs or anonymous sporting societies are permitted to hold full training sessions. These sporting clubs will, however, have to comply with the corresponding prevention and hygiene measures.

Consequently, tennis players are also given the authority to train on the courts. Hence, Djokovic was able to return to the club, where he practiced with his close friend and World No.428, Carlos Gomez Herrera.
