World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will be part of the Miami Open 2021. Along with the recently crowned Australian Open champion, superstars such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will feature at this event. Since organizers have postponed the Indian Wells, the Miami Open will be the first Masters 1000 tournament of the new season.

In the previous season, the ‘sunshine double’ (Indian Wells and Miami Open) was canceled in wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Prior to that, the event was held successfully in 2019, where Roger Federer was crowned champion in the men’s category and the World No.1 Ashleigh Barty had won the women’s event.

Novak Djokovic has been the most successful player at the Miami Open

Novak Djokovic has been the most successful player at the event, winning it six times. Surprisingly, this tournament happens to be one of the few events Rafael Nadal has failed to capture while the Swiss maestro has won it on four occasions.

Another noteworthy statistic of this tournament is that Djokovic was the youngest player to win this event as a 19-year-old teenager in 2007. On the other hand, Federer is the oldest player to win this event as a 37-year-old in 2019.
