Roberto Bautista Agut has registered the first upset of the season as he beat Novak Djokovic, to book a place in the finals of the Qatar open in Doha. Roberto, who had just one victory over the world number one, played some of the best tennis in his life to deny Novak Djokovic a title shot in the finals. Despite winning the first set, Novak was not in control of the match, as Bautista Agut refused to back down, hitting thunderous forehands, and playing solid tennis from the baseline, and holding off Novak Djokovic in 3 sets to register a memorable victory.
Novak Djokovic took titles at both Wimbledon as well as the US Open and also made the finals in London, where he fell to Alexander Zverev at the ATP World Tour Finals.

Bautista Agut dug deep and managed to overcome the Serb in three high quality sets- 3-6 7-6 (8-6) 6-4.
The Spaniard tennis star has looked in good touch at the start of 2019, knocking out the Swiss Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals. Bautista Agut romped through the Swiss in straight sets 6-4 6-4.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic lost a golden opportunity to bag a third career singles title at the Qatar open. He had taken back to back titles in 2016 and 2017, before French tennis veteran Gael Monfils claimed the title in the previous year. Bautista Agut awaits the winner of the match between, another player who has been making a comeback- Tomas Berdych and the Italian Marco Cecchinato. With the quality of tennis displayed against Novak Djokovic, Roberto will be the favorite going into the finals. He will be brimming with confidence right now and will also have the required experience to back it up in Doha.
