Golf as a sport made a comeback in the 2016 Rio Olympics after ages. And this is just the second time that this sport will be played in the Olympics.?
There are a total of 60 players on the field, and the American contingent is the most popular team with players like Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Patrick Reed. And Michael Phelps cheered for Team USA from his hotel room.

Moreover, Justin Thomas had a sub-par start to the prestigious event. He even though managed to remain bogey-free, Thomas also sadly remained birdie-free and finished his round even par with 18 pars through 18 holes.?

However, Xander Schuffele and Patrick Reed had a decent opening round. Both these players remained -3 for the day. Patrick Reed, who just landed a day before the event, surprisingly remained at -3.
