VIDEO: NBA Champion Jrue Holiday Executes Beautiful Nutmeg at Tokyo Olympics 2020

The US men’s national side kicked off their campaign on Sunday against France. It was an exuberant start to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics for the Americans. The men in blue started with Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Bam Adebayo, Draymond Green and Zach LaVine. The high-intensity match started with some sloppy fouls from Gregg Popovich’s side; yet, the score was even. This was followed by a moment of brilliance by Jrue Holiday.

US show their class and take the lead

In a fast-paced first quarter, the United States took few minutes to settle down before Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard took over. It was a field-goal masterclass from the defending champions. Meanwhile, France were rattled with USA’s run of points and lost their rhythm and positioning in attack.

In defense, Draymond Green ran the show early on, dictating play for the entire team. USA managed some devastating turnovers, and Jayson Tatum did the rest.

Following some untimely errors, Team USA ended the first quarter in style, with a 22-15 lead. Progressing to the second half, France made a mini-comeback into the game.

Gobert and de Colo restored order of some sorts, but the American firepower was too much for the French. Team USA took the half 45-37.

Jrue Holiday turns on the style with nutmeg

With the United States already in command of proceedings, Milwaukee Bucks star Jrue Holiday decided to mix things up. On a rampant attack, Holiday had the ball and was charging towards the basket. As Nando de Colo stood in his path, Holiday decided to have some fun.

The 31-year-old made a through-the-legs dribble on the French guard and was even successful in maintaining possession. De Colo was left in splits, not knowing what just hit him.

Meanwhile, Adebayo top-scored for USA in the first half, with 10 vital points. Damian Lillard was not far behind with 9 points. Team USA looks solid and on their merry way to take home their first victory.
