‘GOAT’ – Jessica Korda Makes a Statement After Sibling Nelly Korda Wins Olympic Gold for USA

Wishes are pouring in for Nelly Korda from all around the world. The 23-year-old clinched the women’s PGA Championship this season and has now won Olympic gold for Team USA. Korda has garnered several fans in her golf journey, and her biggest supporter in life is none other than her sister Jessica Korda!
Nelly Korda and Jessica Korda are both professionals on the LPGA Tour. This week, they also lived the dream of representing Team USA at the Olympic games. Nelly took it a step further and won a gold medal for her country in the women’s golf competition.
Nelly Korda marched ahead right from the first round and did not look like slowing down. She took leaderboard honors from Round 2 and sustained the position till the end of the event. Eventually, Korda won the competition with a one-stroke lead, with a score of 17-under for the tournament.

Nelly Korda came into the women’s golf competition as the towering favorite. Of course, defending gold medalist InBee Park was also in the field, but Korda displayed better form leading up to the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
And just like that, with four spectacular rounds, Nelly Korda fulfilled each and every expectation fans placed on her. Korda shot 67, 62, 69, and 69, through four rounds to clinch gold at Kasumigaseki Country Club.

Pure selfless emotions from Jessica Korda right there. She was a part of the field in the women’s golf competition too, but could only finish T15 after 72-holes. However, her younger sister went out and got the job done.

Jessica mentioned that Nelly should be given the G.O.A.T. status in women’s golf considering what Nelly has done over the past few months. However, that is quite debatable as there are several female golfers who are worthy of standing on that pedestal.
