Back in April, Josh Hart confessed that the Knicks needed Suni Lee and Anne Hathaway at every game during the first round of the playoffs to serve as Anunoby’s famous good luck charms. It turned out, Hart manifested his wish as the Olympian followed through and attended the New York Knicks vs Detroit Pistons playoff at Madison Square Garden. Now, months later, the NFL sidelines had a familiar Olympic sparkle as Suni Lee brought her trademark energy to Minnesota this weekend.

On October 19, as the Vikings locked horns with the Philadelphia Eagles, Lee graced her presence at the US Bank Stadium. With her roots thriving in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the six-time Olympic medalist rallied behind the Vikings. She said, “Hey Vikings fans. It’s Suni Lee. I’m so excited to be here. Go Vikings!”

Three times, the U.S. Bank Stadium crowd rose to its feet to cheer out loud after the Viking delivered multiple blows to overtake the Super Bowl champions. However, the Vikings lost 28-22 to the Eagles on Sunday in a game where they so frequently seemed on the edge of victory.

Though Eagles defeated Vikings on their home ground, Minnesota fans kept expressing their regards for the gymnast throughout the game.

Fans show their elation for Suni Lee at the Vikings vs. Eagles game

No doubt, the Vikings fans welcomed Lee’s support for their home team. One fan reflected on this and wrote, “The only lucky charm you need. She in the building, players gonna turn up!” Another fan highlighted that things could have gotten interesting with a never-before performance by players. The comment read, “We’re going to see things on the field that have never been done before.” But alas! Reality told a different story.

Suni Lee even managed to turn other fans into Vikings supporters. That’s a feat only a few can achieve. One fan commented, “I’m a vikings fan for today.” Even those who weren’t at the stadium were swept up in the hype. A fan wrote, “I wish I was at the Vikings game currently!!!!”

The loss was enough to send the fanbase tumbling into disappointment. Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith led the Eagles to victory with career-saving performances. Hurts made 326 yards passing and three touchdowns while Smith made nine receptions, one touchdown, and a 183-yard pass. Disappointed fans wrote, “Them fellas really lost in front of Suni Lee.” Another fan added, “we stinking it up with Suni Lee in attendance, damn.”

Despite the loss, Lee’s support brought energy, pride, and attention to the Vikings faithful. And whether courtside or fieldside, one thing remains clear — wherever Suni Lee shows up, the spotlight is never far behind.
