When it comes to the Arkansas Razorbacks, they haven’t been one of your traditional big-name programs. Without any major national stars on their roster and the glitz and the glamor of teams like UCLA or LSU, they’ve been the underdogs of the SEC for a long time now. But this all changed when Jordyn Wieber entered their ranks as a head coach. Under her reign, the program went on to post historic scores, break attendance records, and even reach their first semis. And now, beyond what she has done on the mat, Jordyn is ready to welcome one more happy moment in her life. But what?
Well, for that, we might need to go back to 2024, as on December 18, Jordyn and her husband, fellow Olympian and assistant coach Chris Brooks, announced that they’re expecting their first child. But true to their inclusive coaching style, they didn’t keep the moment to themselves. The couple revealed the news in the very gym where dreams are built. Surrounded by their Razorback athletes, who erupted with cheers when the message became clear.

Jordyn Wieber took to Instagram with the sweetest update: “🎀 Gigi Renee Brooks 🎀🎂 Born 6/4/25 💪🏼 6 lb, 5 oz So excited to welcome our precious little girl to the world! She’s teeny tiny, has lots of hair, and has already made life so much more wonderful 💕” The touching post brought back memories of where it all began for Jordyn and Chris.

Their story started in 2011 at the World Gymnastics Championships, when both were young athletes chasing global success. “We were friends for a few years and crossed paths many times competing internationally in gymnastics before we started dating,” Jordyn once shared. What began as a professional connection slowly blossomed into something more personal? An enduring love shaped by shared dreams and long days in the gym.
That bond reached a beautiful milestone when the couple exchanged vows at Osage House in Bentonville, Arkansas. Styled in “old Hollywood glam with a modern twist,” the wedding felt like something out of a movie. “To become husband and wife is so exciting,” Wieber told PEOPLE. “It means we are committing to building a special and meaningful life together, and to make the commitment in front of our favorite people at our wedding meant the world to us.”
Among the 170 guests were familiar faces from the gymnastics world, including Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross, Madison Kocian, and Jake Dalton. With Jordyn’s family from Michigan and Chris’s from Texas, Arkansas offered the perfect middle ground. “We live and work at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and have super busy schedules, so it made planning so much easier knowing that our venue and vendors were local,” Jordyn added.
That same tight-knit Razorback community has now wrapped the couple in warmth once again. This time, for the arrival of baby Gigi. Fans from around the country have been showering the new parents with love, proving once again that this Arkansas family extends far beyond the gym.
Fans melt over baby’s debut as Razorback Nation celebrates with love and legacy
When Jordyn Wieber and Chris Brooks welcomed baby Gigi Renee into the world, it didn’t just feel like a family celebration—it felt like a full-circle moment for the Arkansas gymnastics community. Coming off a season filled with record-breaking performances and fierce competition, Razorback Nation now had something even more heartwarming to cheer for.

Fans quickly filled the comments with affection and awe, noting how baby Gigi already seemed to be channeling the strength of her champion mom. One fan gushed, “The way baby girl is holding her head up already, WOW!!! She’s so beautiful 💕💕💕🎀.” And it’s no surprise the reactions poured in like proud family members. After all, this is a team that made magic happen in 2025.
From upsetting No. 2 Florida with a season-high score of 197.175 to setting new records on vault and bars, the Razorbacks weren’t just contenders. They were culture-shifters. Gigi’s birth felt like the perfect continuation of that momentum. As one fan so beautifully put it, “Lucky little girl to have two such great parents. You’re at the beginning of a long journey that goes by in the blink of an eye. Congrats. Enjoy every moment.”
The gymnastic community’s love wasn’t just rooted in sentiment. It was also a tribute to strength. One commenter pointed out the most adorable parallel from Gigi’s very first photo (above): her neck confidently upright, her expression full of early spark. “Congratulations 🎊🎉 she’s beautiful, and look at that strength, like her mama @jordyn_wieber holding her head high!! ❤🙌😍,” they wrote.
It’s hard not to draw comparisons—just as Jordyn helped her team rise through adversity and set new heights, baby Gigi seems poised to carry that same powerful spirit. From championship routines to heartfelt family moments, the Razorback community knows how to show up. Their support was evident all season, especially when over 9,800 fans packed the stands during the LSU meet. A program record.
That same enthusiasm was on display in the comments, where one fan wrote, “Beautiful! 💝Welcome to the world and welcome to the Razorback family!” And perhaps the most poetic tribute of all came from a fan who simply called her “Perfect little pink mermaid queen 🩷🩷🩷🩷.” With a debut this precious, baby Gigi isn’t just a new member of the Razorback family. She’s already their crowned gem.
