In gymnastics, every athlete shares one big dream: the Olympics. That’s the goal they all chase, the moment they’ve spent years working for. And for gymnasts like Simone Biles, who’ve already reached that dream, the Olympic rings hold a special meaning. It’s more than just a symbol—it represents everything they’ve sacrificed and worked for. Athletes participating in gymnastics have started adopting Olympic rings necklaces as a fashionable new practice. The iconic status of Biles among gymnasts and fashion lovers both drives her position as the leader of this stylish trend. One of Simone’s teammates displays a similar fashion sense while following in her iconic footsteps in gymnastics.

Simone Biles displayed the Olympic rings necklace following the Tokyo 2020 Olympics competition. The necklace displayed the Olympic rings in a delicate manner similar to diamond elegance. The 16-year-old American gymnast Hezly Rivera is a member of the U.S. team for Paris 2024, and she won the gold medal while sporting a necklace that resembles the one worn by Simone Biles after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Through Instagram, she posted a photo in sunshine holding her flowing dark curls with a selfie that captured the moment. She wore a simple white top and the necklace in question, featuring the Olympic rings symbol with her name, “HEZLY,” intertwined in the design.

The piece looks just like Simone Biles’s, with the only difference being the personalized name. It’s clear Rivera has a special connection to Biles, whom she’s admired since meeting her at the age of seven. Even in an interview with AOL, Rivera recalled how surreal it was to finally compete alongside her idol. “I’ve always looked up to her… training with her has been such an amazing experience,” she shared.

It’s no surprise, then, that Biles has played an influential role in Rivera’s journey. Rivera has expressed gratitude for the mentorship she’s received from Biles, as well as from other seasoned gymnasts like Suni Lee and Jade Carey. In another interview with E! News, Rivera described her teammates as “uplifting and supportive,” constantly cheering her on and helping her handle the pressures of her first Olympics. Now, a curious question arises, as we saw in the Paris Olympics: Simone Biles wore a necklace that seemed different from the Olympic rings. Where is that? Did she give that necklace?  Yes!

Simone Biles gave Jordan Chiles a piece of good luck

Remember the Tokyo Olympics when Simone Biles had to pull out for mental health reasons? That’s when Jordan Chiles stepped in, filling in on the uneven bars and balance beam during the team final. While she didn’t grab an individual gold, her solid performances helped secure the U.S. team’s silver medal. It was a huge moment for Chiles, stepping up in such a big way. Later on, after the Games, Simone gifted her a necklace with the Olympic rings—a sweet, meaningful gesture, especially after everything they went through together.

Chiles once said about Biles, “This girl is beyond words. I wish people could truly understand who she is—and not just the gymnastics. She’s the bestest friend I’ve ever had in my life. She’s like a big sister to me.” Fast forward to now, and Jordan’s an Olympic gold medalist herself! And get this—Hezly Rivera, another gymnast, is rocking a similar Olympic rings necklace. With dreams set on the LA 2028 Olympics, it’s clear that Hezly’s got some big goals ahead, just like Chiles. Looks like these athletes are really living the dream, huh?
