The last few days have seen a storm brewing in the world of women’s sports, ignited by a fiery exchange between Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and former swimmer Riley Gaines. The spark? A seemingly routine congratulatory post by the Minnesota State High School League on X, celebrating Champlin Park’s team. Gaines, known for her outspoken stance on trans inclusion in sports, criticized the post, which included a trans athlete. And Simone Biles didn’t hold back…

In a now-viral reply, the Olympian called Gaines a “sore loser”—a comment that quickly split the internet and lit up the comment sections. While many applauded Simone for speaking her truth, others accused her of crossing the line. And just when things seemed to be settling down, former Olympic teammate Mykayla Skinner jumped into the ring.

In a statement aired by One America News Network, Skinner sided with Gaines, accusing Biles of bullying, both online and behind the scenes. “As an athlete who has dedicated years to a sport, I’ve always believed that true competition should elevate us—not diminish others,” Skinner said.  She didn’t stop there.  Skinner added: “Well, throughout my career, there’s been many times where I have been belittled and bullied by Simone. [I] have wanted to keep quiet for the other athletes.”  Those comments intensified the debate further.

However, in a brief but surprising move on June 10, Biles publicly apologized to Riley Gaines for her remarks, signaling an attempt to de-escalate the situation. Since then, Simone had mostly kept quiet on social media… until June 18. On that day, without a word, she posted a simple “🤎🤎🤎” on Threads. No caption. No explanation. Just three brown hearts. What did Biles mean by it? A subtle statement of self-love? A quiet thank-you to her supporters? Or maybe just a signal that she’s moving forward. The post sparked an outpouring of love from fans. One user wrote: “So happy to see you doing fine. Just know you are loved by those who cares about you. 🤎👍🏽.”

Undoubtedly, the words displayed the pure love from a fan to his/her idol. So, while the meaning behind the post remains open to interpretation, one thing is clear: Simone still has a tribe standing firmly behind her.

Simone Biles’s fans maintain the supporting line

As the online storm swirled around Simone Biles over the past few days, her supporters made one thing loud and clear—they’re not going anywhere. Prove? “Girl you’re the GOAT. Always will be. Don’t let them haters bother you. They’ll fade away into obscurity where they belong.” one fan declared boldly under her recent post. It wasn’t just encouragement—it was a rallying cry. In a conversation that’s quickly turned into a heated back-and-forth of arguments and counterarguments, her fans have drawn a line in the sand: they’re standing by Simone.

Another echoed the sentiment with just as much passion: “We all love you @simonebiles Haters to the left. Keep being 100% who you are. GOAT in all regards 🐐.” It was more than a message—it was a reminder. Her fans don’t just love her for the medals—they love her for the message. And amidst all the noise, the warmth in the replies cut through like sunlight. “Love you always ❤️❤️.”  In the meantime, another fan wrote, “you’re my hero.”  So, these weren’t just casual compliments. They were emotional lifelines, fan-to-idol, reminding Simone—and the world—why she’s more than just a gymnast. She’s a symbol of resilience. Of courage. Of being unapologetically herself.

And in a world quick to judge, sometimes silence—accompanied by three quiet hearts—speaks the loudest. Furthermore, there are plenty of ears to hear that loudest voice, which came in the shape of hearts, as those ears did when Simone had to face pregnancy rumors and subsequent public scrutiny. In a moment where the spotlight could’ve felt cold, Simone Biles’ community turned it into a glow of support. And judging by the love flooding in, Simone’s tribe isn’t just present—they’re powerful.
