Jordan Chiles may not be on the gymnastics mats at the moment—she’s still on her break while deciding whether to continue till LA 2028—but she’s still turning heads. On the dancefloor, that is. With her partner, Ezra Sosa, Chiles has joined the latest season of Dancing With the Stars, continuing a long line of gymnastics representation, including teammate Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, and Nastia Liukin, on the show. She first saved herself from elimination after scoring a big 22/30 and being compared to the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Tina Turner. But the good things don’t end there. Stephen Curry, yes, Chef Curry himself, has sent a gift for the gymnast.

All about Jordan Chiles’ basketball-related history

To start with, the Olympic gold medalist is named after the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan. Her mom, Gina Chiles, was a huge fan of the NBA legend. “She felt the inspiration that he gave to her, and that was just a really huge and beautiful thing. She just decided, ‘You know what? I’m going to make my child after him and see where life takes her,” said Jordan. She even said that she has her fingers crossed that she will one day meet him.

Also, Chiles is best friends with A’ja Wilson, the Las Vegas Aces’ star baller. During the Paris 2024 Olympics, Jordan Chiles gave a stunning performance on the floor exercise, earning what was initially a bronze medal after a scoring review. When the medal was later taken away, it caused a wave of controversy, and a lot of her fellow athletes spoke up in support. Wilson was one of them. “Stop playing me. What kind of question is that? Yes. It’s a no-brainer. And I was pissed. Honestly, I prayed for you,” she said when she was asked if Jordan deserved the bronze.

Chiles was making waves as one of the WNBA’s most dedicated celebrity supporters. In August, she had attended a Dallas Wings game and a Seattle Storm game and had then set her sights on Indiana. “Yes, so the next game I have is August 22nd. The Indiana Fever. I’m really excited about that. My best friend actually makes all of my hats. She customizes them to how she feels like the team is, and so it’s really cool to go from game to game,” she said. True to her words, she was courtside at the Indiana Fever’s game against the Minnesota Lynx on August 22, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. She may be a gymnast, but Jordan Chiles certainly knows ball.
