It seemed like just another quiet afternoon in Texas. The kind where the sun’s out, the air’s easy, and family time means trying out something new. Jazmin Chiles, big sister to Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, was doing just that. No pressure, no rush. Just Jazmin and her brother Tyrus were nearby, and it all looked seemingly easy. Until it wasn’t! Well, she was learning how to ride with her brother, Tyrus Chiles! It seemed like she was just easing into it. But then… she lifted off.

Yes, you heard that right! One second, her hands were steady on the handlebars; the next, her grip faltered. The bike tilted just enough to throw everything out of sync. She tried to correct it, but her balance was already gone. Within moments, she struck something that felt like a container—whatever it was, it jolted her hard, and she fell down. Tyrus Chiles saw it unfold: “My brother casually walking up to me like ‘sis are you okay?’” she later posted. “I was in shock.” And just when you thought it couldn’t get more surreal—“Then my dad walks out. It woke him out of his nap 🤣🤣🤣,” she added.

Jazmin gave more updates on the incident in the follow-up story, and that’s when the story shifted.

She didn’t just post a quick update, but she opened up. The fall outside her Texas home wasn’t just rough on her body; it was rough on the bike, too. Her Harley-Davidson! That beast, which averages around $25,000, according to Riders’ Share, took a solid hit. And so did Jazmin. But the way she tells it now? It’s not just about the fall, but it’s about the bounce back. On May 19th, Jazmin finally shared her side of the story on Instagram: “I’m alive. No major injuries,” she began, flashing a tired smile. “I am bruised up—definitely have a bruise right here.”

(She pointed to the carpal on the back of her hand??). And just when you think she might be down for a while, she sets the record straight: “My left leg is torn up. I just got out of the shower and found some cuts on my back. But I’m good, you know; I’m fine. I will be getting on the motorcycle again?” Yep, you read that right. She’s not hanging up the helmet. Not even close.

No, I’m not scared, you all?” she added, clearly noticing the wave of concern. “And stop hating on my brother?” Turns out, a lot of fans had turned their gaze on her brother, Tyrus Chiles, who saw the crash unfold. But Jazmin wasn’t having any of that. “You all are making it seem like he wasn’t rushing over to me. He knew I was fine, you all. Like, he’s been teaching me how to ride the bike, so it’s—he’s been riding bikes for, like, literally over 10 years ??.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jazmin Chiles' determination to ride again a testament to true grit or sheer recklessness?

She paused, then chuckled as she recalled a lighter moment in the aftermath: “It was when my dad popped around my corner; I just started busting out laughing, because I couldn’t do anything else.” Despite the bruises, the cuts, and the collective gasp from her followers, Jazmin’s spirit? Still ironclad. “But I’m fine. Just a little banged up. Just a little bruised up? And I’m sure I’ll be back on it in a couple of days after I recover from my trauma.” While the reaction from Jordan Chiles isn’t public yet, one thing is for sure: she would be very much concerned.

Jordan Chiles shares a strong bond with her sister

Jordan Chiles doesn’t just have a sister—she has a built-in best friend, role model, and glam squad all rolled into one. Glam squad? Yes! A licensed stylist since 2020 with her salon, Hair Goals by Jazmin Dominique, Jazmin has been Jordan’s glam rock—on red carpets, photoshoots, and everything in between. That is not it! Her older sister, Jazmin Chiles, has been by her side through thick and thin.

And the bond they share is as inspiring as it is heartwarming. “She has been a part of my life, obviously, for a very long time, and I brought her on as one of my [hair and makeup artists] and she travels with me everywhere I go,” Jordan shared in a recent conversation with PEOPLE. Their relationship goes beyond beauty and styling—it’s about deep emotional support.

Not only is she an inspiration and an idol, but her beauty is immaculate, and so she gives me the motivation to embrace myself,” Jordan added. “It was fun to have her… and bring everything together.” So while Jazmin is out there healing from her injuries, she is also cheering on Jordan as she prepares herself for her future challenges. Meanwhile, the Olympian is right there by her sister to give the support she needs. Sweet? Yes! Sister Goals? Absolutely!!
