Nine hours ago, Jordan Chiles made an Instagram post captioned, “Ahhhhhhh it’s show day!!! Week 3 here we go!! Don’t forget to VOTE Jordan to 21523!! ” Surely, the UCLA star needed votes to advance in DWTS, and her team would not disappoint her. There’s only so little time left before the next NCAA season starts, but not only the team but Chiles’s teammates have found time to support her.

UCLA gymnastics took to their story and wrote, “Tango to your phone at 5pm PT to vote for @jordanchiles! Text JORDAN to 21523 VOTE FOR JORDAN. It was not just the team alone; the UCLA gymnasts, Carissa Clay and Co., also watched the third episode of DWTS and supported their fellow gymnasts. In another story uploaded by UCLA, a few gymnasts say, “Hey guys, we are on our way to Dancing with the Stars to support Jordan.” These words were met with cheers.

Chiles mentioned the story back on her Instagram story. They took a selfie with Jordan, which is also part of their story. There was another one, where all of them could be seen screaming in excitement. The caption read, “Us after watching @jordanchiles dance🤩💃🏻 SHE ABSOLUTELY KILLED THAT‼️vote JORDAN 10x to 21523‼️” And she performed great today.

Today, as the two took to the stage again, the theme was TikTok Night, and they chose “Anxiety” by Doechi. Ezra Sosa and Jordan Chiles performed a Tango to the song and scored 24 points out of 30. The fans loved it. Judge Bruno Tonioli called her today’s performance “clean, clear, powerful [and] focused” before declaring it her “best dance yet.

Carissa Clay uploaded another video of Jordan, in which the gymnast greets her teammates after the performance. She captions the video, “Stop, I’m crying so so proud of you, jo@jordanchiles,” and it was also added back on UCLA’s Instagram story. Yet, what’s more remarkable is her balancing act between gymnastics and dancing.

Jordan Chiles is balancing UCLA and DWTS

The Olympic bronze medalist is one of the best gymnasts on UCLA’s roster. For instance, she closed the final with a near-perfect 9.975 on the floor and posted a 39.7750 all-around score, the best all-around score of the meet, while UCLA finished second. But Chiles had her reasons for joining the Dancing with the Stars event.

She said this is the third time she’s been invited to join Dancing with the Stars, but she felt the timing was finally right to showcase her performance skills on a new platform and explore a different form of self-expression.“Obviously, I’ve been on the world’s biggest stage (the Olympics) twice in my life. I think understanding that if you bring in the crowd and bring in the understanding [that] you’ve done it so many times over and over again, then it’s going to be completely fine if you just trust the process,” she said.

Moreover, as a kid, she had performed ballet, tap, and hip-hop dance classes, so this was a perfect opportunity to use that talent. But she is not putting UCLA on the sidelines while she is there. Jordan Chiles is dancing while also practicing for the upcoming NCAA season, balancing the two.

Chiles was already in the gym ahead of UCLA’s first official week of preseason training. “She really is trying to be intentional about everything she does when she’s in the gym,” UCLA head coach Janelle McDonald said. Thus, prepare for something big from Chiles as everyone’s on the hype train.
