“yessir let’s go 😈.” Just three words alongside the moment when Paul Skenes absolutely crushed the Phillies on June 8 at PNC Park is all that Olivia Dunne posted for her boyfriend on her Instagram stories. No fluff, no bling, just pure support, love, and admiration. And it wasn’t the first such story posted by her, and obviously not the last…
So how could she not express her feelings after Paul Skenes was named to his second consecutive All-Star team as the Pirates’ lone selection scheduled at Truist Park in Atlanta on July 15? And Olivia Dunne did not disappoint as she shared a screenshot of a video call on her Instagram story today with Skenes. She wrote plainly, “ALL SMILES CAUSE HE’S A PAUL-STAR ALL-STAR.” Short, casual, and affectionate, and nothing more. And her message stood out, not for its length, but for its unmistakable sincerity. But that wasn’t it!
Well, she further added in the story, “NEXT STOP ATLANTA.” Is Olivia hinting that she would be in the stands at Atlanta cheering for Paul? We don’t know, but if she does show up, it would be nothing new! She was in the stands in May cheering the Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander during the three-game series between the Mets and Pirates at Citi Field and also during the June game between the Pirates and Phillies. However, these are just some of the few instances.

Coming to Paul’s achievement, his outing on Sunday against Seattle would have further strengthened the case for his selection. Though the Pirates fell short in a 1–0 loss, Skenes delivered five scoreless innings, striking out ten and issuing no walks. He worked efficiently and with command, limiting the Mariners to five hits. While the box score reflected his dominance, it also required timely defense and disciplined play from his teammates to preserve the scoreless stretch. It was the sort of balanced performance that reflected both personal excellence and collective discipline.

But in the flurry of press releases, analyst debates, and fan speculation about whether Skenes should again start the All-Star Game for the National League, Olivia’s message stood apart. It was brief, perhaps even casual. Yet it was also honest. And this is not the only time Olivia Dunne has shown her love publicly for Skenes. Recently, she spent a hefty amount to acquire a rare Paul Skenes collectible!

Olivia Dunne dropped $2,850 on an ultra-rare Paul Skenes rookie card
At a bustling card convention inside New York City’s Jacob Javits Center, Livvy Dunne, recently retired from gymnastics, made an uncommonly personal investment. She walked up to a pair of card sellers at the Fanatics Fest, calmly engaged them in conversation, and left with one of the rarest Paul Skenes cards in circulation. The rookie card, which features Japanese anime-style artwork, was offered at $3,000. After a brief exchange, Dunne closed the deal at $2,850. There are only five such cards in existence.

What made the moment especially pointed was the casual confidence with which Dunne approached the negotiation. In the brief clip going around on the internet, she referenced hearing of a similar Bowman’s Best card going for $2,200. The sellers countered with the card’s scarcity, “only five of them exist,” and she responded without hesitation. A moment later, she was sealing the transaction with Steel City Collectibles. She walked away holding a card of remarkable rarity, but the price she paid pointed to something less transactional.
